Established in 1953, the publishers produced this modernist poster of Famagusta for tourist purposes upon the independence of Cyprus. The poster portrays the famous cathedral of St. Nicholas set in a minimalist background before a setting sun. The inclusion of the lilies (Pancratium maritimum) found on Cypriot beaches in August-September, especially on sandy beaches. Famagusta was famous for its sandy ‘golden’ beaches.
Poster from ca. 1960 published by Pervolarakis, O. & Lykoyannis, B.
